From my tapes-vault I haven unearthed an interview with Paul Simon from November 1980.
Paul was in the UK because of the ‘ One-trick Pony’- tour he was doing in Europe. He was interviewed live on November 7th 1980 by Capital Radio in the UK. You can download the interview through 1Fichier

Does someone who reads this blog maybe saw Paul Simon live during this 1980 tour? And if you stil have memorabilia from this tour please share it with us.

Thanks for the interview and great blogs! I’m going to listen to it in a moment. I didn’t see him live in 1980, only in 2004 and 2008 here in The Netherlands. I do have a big interview article in a Dutch magazine from 1980 which was held during the ‘One Trick Pony’ tour, and 5 concert audience recordings from 1980. If you’re interested I’d like to share them with you.
I do not have any memorabilia but I do remember someone in the crowd in Forest National shouting “Run for president !” which made Paul Simon chuckle. Two days later Ronald Reagan was elected president of the USA.
I was there too at Forest National. Only thing I can rememberung is the fact that had a great horn section playing and that he jumped on Richard Tee’s piano to wave us goodbye and thank us at the very end of the show.
This looks amazing! Any chance the links could be re-upped please? Thank you!

TTMJ2016, it was so kind of you to re-share the file – thanks a lot! I’ll be listening this morning!
