When his major movie One-trick Pony made it to the cinemas and there ofcourse was a ‘soundtrack’-album released Paul Simon went on tour to promote it all. It was his first album for a new record company – Warner Brothes – with another hit too: ‘Late in the evening’.
Here are the dates for the tour in Europe:
1980-10-18 Vienna – Austria Sophiensaal
1980-10-21 Munich – Germany Olympiahalle
1980-10-24 Hamburg – Germany Congress Centrum Hamburg
1980-10-25 New York – USA / New York Palladium
1980-10-27 Drammen, Norway, Drammenshallen
1980-10-28, Gothenburg, Sweden, Scandinavium,
1980-10-30 Paris – France Theatre du Champs Elysees (with Art Garfunkel)
1980-11-01 Frankfurt – Germany Jahrhunderthalle
1980-11-02 Brusseles – Belgium Forest National
1980-11-03 Amsterdam – Netherlands Carre
1980-11-04 London – United Kingdom Apollo Hammersmith
1980-11-06 London – United Kingdom Apollo Hammersmith
1980-11-07 London – United Kingdom Apollo Hammersmith
Between Hamburg and Paris, it seems that he returned to New York for a concert in The Palladium, but I still need to find confirmation for that one.
In Paris his old friend and ex-partner Art Garfunkel joined him on stage for 2 songs: The boxer – Scarborough Fair) (a tape exists).
I visited the show in Brussels (Belgium) and it still lingers on in my memory as one of the best ever I ahve seen. Paul was in very good mood (he jumped on the piano to wave to the audience) and the band was fantastic. The horn-section…wonderful! And ofcourse Steve Gadd on drums.
Update (Feb 6th 2012):
The NYC Paladium show took place on September 3oth ; it was reviewed in the New York Times of October 2nd:

Hi, Paul also played in Norway, in the town of Drammen during the One-Trick Pony tour. I was there. Will see if I can find the exact date. Cheers!
hi Oystein! long time no hear or read. Are you doing allright? Greetings, Rob
Hi Rob, all fine here, appart from the sad fact that my external harddisc with everything of Simon & Cohen & Kinks & Beach Boys & Richard Thompson crashed to the floor and died the other day. Best greetings back to you, great job!
Hi Oystein, thanks for the info about Drammen. I will add it to the list. I think you once gave me a copy of that tape. Will check it.
And he played in Gothenburg the day after he played a concert in Norway (or maybe two days?).
Anyway there was heavy fog in the airport (don’t know if it was in Norway or Gothenburg, or both), but anyway, Paul had to drive from Norway to Gothenburg on the night of the concert and the concert was beacause of this 3 hours late! The audience were boooing at him when he finally entered the stage! But then he exaplained the sitaution and received an applause instead!
Well if you ever find the exact date to this Gothenburg show I’d be please to get it. Also the Drammen (Norway) should, I cannot find a word (besides Oystein’s) about it.
Paul Simon played in Scandinavium, 1980-10-28, Gothenburg.
The show was late because of weather condition at the Oslo airport.
Only song I remember for sure he played was Sounds of silence.
Thank you for this update!
Paul played Drammenshallen, Drammen on 27. oktober 1980

That was his first concert in Norway (S&G was never here).; I have a cassette somewhere with a Norwegian radio interview with him from that visit to Norway; he speaks about a girlfriend of Norwegian origin. I have later thought he might be talking about Heidi Berg
