With the great help and efforts of Mr. Chihara I have been able to add 2 more concert dates to 1967 overview.
July 21st and 22nd: Chicago, Civic Opera House
Thank you so much for your contributions Mr Chihara!
Well I have spent some time to clean things up…..
The information about Simon & Garfunkel vinyl has moved to a new blog: simongarfunkelvinyl.wordpress.com. There is so much I would like to present, but first I have to sort my files.
But yes, I am also still looking for information. So if you have any material from the early period – 1958-1963 – please let me know!
Also Paul Simon’s World of Vinyl has been made much more readable…well I hope so …please check it out: paulsimonvinyl.wordpress.com
Enjoy the blogs!

…to England where my heart lies…….
In 1964 when Paul Simon had just arrived in England he was eagerly looking for a gig in one of the many folk clubs. Not so easy for an American.
In this letter that you can read through this link http://www.culture24.org.uk/places+to+go/north+west/liverpool/art25849 Paul Simon mentions that he has recorded an album recently. Well that was a bit optimistic. He recorded two songs for a never to be released album for Topic Records.
While preparing the 2000-2010 pages I found apart of a filmed soundcheck on a Japanese fan-site http://geocities.yahoo.co.jp/gl/kanesashi/ :
2008-11-16 – Le Poisson Rouge Hall – NYC – A Tribute Concert for Miriam Makeba.
Part of the The Soundcheck can be seen on YouTube :

Enjoy!
Through the years I have collected many singles and ep’s (45rpms) and lp’s (331/3rpms) of Simon and Garfunkel (both duo and solo). Also I have been able to save many images from the internet. And ofcourse other collectors from around the world have shared their knowledge and collection(s).
So now I was thinking of adding pagesfrom time to time to this blog showing the varity in which material was released througout the world by all the different record companies through the years. Part of it is already shown here too:

For this blog I started for the time being with CBS 1977 (The sound of silence / We’ve got a groovey thing goin’ ) and CBS Sony. Just to see how it will grow and how I can develop it the best way.
CBS / Sony rleases have always been very special to me. Besides the fact that in Japan vinyl is treated as if it were a special art-form with the most beautiful covers, but also very nice couplings of songs were done by the series producers. It shows the pleasure and respect for the artist, they had with these releases!
And it is like a cry for help too! If you have any info please let me know, it is much appreciated.
In February it was 40 years ago that the ‘ Bridge over troubled water ‘ album was released. There’s a front-page article in Goldmine Magazine (February 26, 2010) and it has an interview with Art Garfunkel about the song.
When ‘ Bridge over troubled water ‘ was or was to be released Columbia Records had also a live album in mind. This information must have been made known to the Japanese CBS / Sony Corporation and when they released the ‘ Bridge’-album they put in the recording dates to the 11 tracks as follows:
All CBS/Sony albums contain very detailed recording information, which makes them very special. Already in 1969 they released a magnificent ‘ Greatest Hits’ album.
1964-04-12 Brentwood, UK, Railway Inn Folk Club (1st performance in the UK)
Here is a very interesting link: http://seax.essexcc.gov.uk/result_details.asp?DocID=477046
Dennis Rookard recorded some of the performances in the Brentwood folkclub way back in 1964. One tape has Paul Simon on it. The tape will remain in the vault for another 20 years. No use to ask for a copy!
Kaz Chihara (from Japan) sent a link to a radio spot for the August 23rd 1968 show in the Hollywood Bowl:

A great addition !
Thanks!
